My Upcoming "Worst" Christmas
This week really destroyed my hope of having a very happy and meaningful Christmas. My father will be arriving this December, that's a good news, but I have done 2 things that will really make him upset. The first is that I lost his only umbrella when he bought his Ford Everest, and that is his one of his most treasured possessions and the second is that I got kicked from the Top 10, and he even bought me a PSP so that I will improve my studies. He would really be upset this Christmas and I don't want to ruin both my parents' and my holidays. I will really be unhappy as well because I was banned to use both computer and other gadgets because I got kicked from the Top 10. I'll do my best this 3rd Grading Period and hopefully I wish to regain my former place at the honor roll in our room.

Reunion
All the hectic work can be overcome by happy weekends. The reunion of my mother's former classmates was one example. All of them were dentists and they always work hard. They are also far away from each other so they decided to have a reunion last Saturday. We traveled to Laguna so they would meet again. Her classmates were my Godmothers so I asked for my early Christmas gifts and they gave me money, a lot. I was very happy too, not only because of the money but also the hot springs. We were all happy and exhausted after the day.

Math Festival
Friday was the day in this week when the Math festival was held. Everyone felt relaxed since there were no classes at all. We watched a lot of performances especially in the Math jingle and the Mathaba. The Mathaba attracted the most attention since its like a pageant of big and chubby people. We laughed a lot at their performances especially Napo from the 4th year level since he danced with muscular backup and the music was all about being muscular. We also enjoyed watching the rest and in the end the 4th years won.

Grades
This week was just another week filled with surprises. It was announced that the PTC will be on Friday. I was not sure of this news until they formally announced it. The entrance exam form was also released at this time. I got 5 forms because my mother invited 4 students to take the test, the fifth was my sister. I got the form earlier so I gave it early as well. When the PTC arrived I got nervous about my grades but good thing they were higher than I expected.

I Feel Sick Again
This week was a week filled with so much epidemics and academics. I don't know why but my classmates are suffering different kinds of sickness. The most common disease was the terrible colds that I even got. The P.T was also scheduled this week so stress builds up to those who have diseases and problems start to arouse. I felt bad at the second day of our PT. I really felt dizzy due to the tests and the sudden rain that occurred that I needed a checkup due to my allergic rhinitis. I asked my teacher if I can go and have a checkup on Friday after the PT and good thing she allowed me. Then I went to my mother's clinic, or where she works, to consult and I really had allergic rhinitis. I suffered the weekends since I'm not allowed to go out even when it was sunny outside.

End of Sembreak
This week was the start of a countdown of the end of our sembreak. We started the week with an outing at Shorelines. We enjoyed the day and were very happy to at least spend some time together. The next days went so fast that I didn't noticed that the end was almost close, very close indeed. On Saturday was the start of November 1 and Halloween begun. There were some people who celebrated Trick-or-Treat while the others went to their hometowns to celebrate All Saints Day and All Souls Day.

Sem break or P.T., Which is First?
This week there was an issue regarding of what will happen next week. Everyone or almost everyone knows that the P.T. will be held next week but there were rumors that it will be held on November. We were confused about this issue and so does the teachers. We wanted to have the P.T. next week so we have few lectures to study but if it is moved on November then we will have so many lectures. The semestral break is coming up so everyone is excited but some are disappointed at the one week break. "Only a week?" they said but for me its enough as long as there is vacations. We later confirmed the news and the P.T. will be on November.

Tug of War
This was the 3rd day of our Intramurals and I get to cover another event so I covered the game Tug of War. In this picture the fight between our team versus the 1st year which are all girls. We won at this fight and after that a fight between boys, our team and the 1st years occurred and we won again. Then the 4th year boys and girls versus the 2nd year boys and girls. The boys at the 4th year won but their girls lost. Then the losers of the 2 games fought, which means the boys at the 1st and 2nd year fought but the 1st years won. The girls at the 1st year won as well. Then the winners, our team and the 2nd year started but we still won. Then our team, on the boys,
versus the 4th year. At first we thought that we will not win but surprisingly we defeated the "Giant" 4th years and became champion at the Tug of War.

Sack Race
This was the 2nd day of our Intramurals. Although it started during Monday we had it postponed because of the Korean representatives going to our school. This day I covered the game sack race, one of the "Laro ng Lahi". There were 6 members on each team and there were 4 teams, from freshmen to seniors. When the game started our team already slowed down so they got a bad start while everybody was really fast. They managed to catch up a little but they slowed down once again so that made them go to the 4th place. The green Acers got the 3rd place, the yellow Asus got the 2nd place and as usual the blue Vaios got the first place.

Basketball
This day; October 6, 2008; was the start of our Intramurals. We were asked to cover an event this day so I covered my game, Basketball. I did not had the chance to take a picture since I was preparing. Our team, the Red Macintosh, fought the freshmen, the Green Acers at basketball. On the first quarter our team scored a lot already while the other team scored 2 points only. On the second quarter we still continued to score a lot of points, leaving the Acers behind. I played on the third quarter and I felt very funny. When they passed the ball to me, I was staring blankly but I still got the ball and when I tried to dribble, the ball did not bounce. I also did a few mistakes since it is my first time to play again. My game did not end up with all miseries. I got some steals and I worked on my defense but still I didn't score.

The way we show our Gratitude
This week was a time that we planned something for our adviser, Ma'am Jacqueline T. Ureta. We heard that her birthday was on the weekends so we planned to celebrate it at school earlier than expected. We talked about it and decided to contribute for the event. They collected money for the cake, gifts, flowers and balloons. I contributed one 1.5 litre coke but it was not enough to satisfy everyone. The plan of a surprise almost went off when the teachers and the students saw the cake at the refrigerator and they tought it was for sale. The plan went great and we managed to hold the party successfully. We had so much pictorials and we even posed at the new building. Through this way, we were able to show our thanks to our adviser who helped us and acted as our second mother who did her best to discipline us. Thank you for everything, Ma'am Jackie.

My Inspiration
The person I admire the most is my father. I also admire my mother as much as my father. He does things that really help us. He works abroad for about 10 months just to help us. He is doing his best for us, his family. Sometimes when he calls, he is saying that he wants to go home already since he always sees water all around. He is a kind, perceiving and loving father to us.
He helped me in many ways but I will tell only one. He helped me realize that to love your family everyday is very important. A seaman's life is not easy when you have a family. He told me that when you wan't to see your family, you can't and you also feel like you're all alone. He convinced me that showing love to your family is the best thing that I can do.

Another Week Of Tests
This week was another trial for our knowledge, because our P.T 2.1 was issued to us. We also had other tests before and after the P.T. This tests made everyone busy, even the teachers as well. They seem very busy that sometimes they don't attend our class anymore. That, of course made us happy since its like we don't have classes at all.

A "lot" of surprises
This week was filled with a lot of surprises that I didn't expect to witness. First thing is that there were rumors that there was no more Intramurals. That is a good break for us at the school and yet, they said that there was no more Intrams. A lot of the students reacted to this matter as well. It was also announced that we will have our PT 2.1 next week. Just when I am not in the mood at all to do my best, but I'm still trying, then they will announce the test. We also had a few long tests this week and I still did what I can but I guess I did not study enough so I got a not-very-good score once again, not very high and not very low, only on the dangerous side. I think that I need to do better at my studies so that I will get better grades. I also had my proposal to our research and I did quite a good job showing it but our teacher said that it was not enough since I cannot find a formula to show that my proposal will prove an equation that will show how the center of a line can be obtaine using the trisection points of its legs. I don't know its significance up until now but I tried to work on it and when I solve some of its equations, it becomes more and more confusing but I will still do my best.

Judgement
Another week has passed and this time, it is not an ordinary week. This Friday will be our dreaded day ever, I think, because the truth will be revealed upon us, our grades. Everyone, almost everyone, were depressed on this fateful day. Even I was unstable thinking of my grades and on what subjects am I weak again. I was hoping that I will not receive a failing mark once again in Science subjects. I was hoping to join the Top 10 and when I saw the rankings in our room, I am at the Top 10, at the 9th. I felt happiness and despair, happiness because I was at the Top 10 and despair, because my grades are not well but I am still there, at our Top 10.

A "shorter" vacation
This week was a 4 day school week and it was really boring. I don't know why, maybe because the teachers are busy computing our grades and everyone is not in the mood on studying. It's like were going to school just for our allowance, just joking. Anyway our teachers introduced us to some of our new lessons this 2nd grading period. We also changed our sitting arrangement since its the 2nd grading period already. The YSC club is busy for the upcoming Intramurals. I hope our team will make it to the top since I'm not yet experiencing the title of being champion or even 2nd or 3rd since I was a 1st year. We were also informed that there will be no classes on Monday again.

En Grande
This week was a very different week compared to the others. Why? because we just received 5 days vacation. Yahoo!! I can't believe it myself till I confirmed it to one of our teachers. The celebration for the Maragondon's feast went earlier than expected so we had no classes on the 14th and the main day of the feast was on the 15th so that's already 2. Adding Saturday and Sunday to the list and we got 4 days already. The news just came in as well and there will be no classes on Monday as well, so it became five. It was the best announcement that we ever heard ever since we were a third year. 5 days, that's quite long but if I enjoy it too much I will never notice 5 days passed too fast. I relatively enjoyed the whole week going to malls, texting, playing computer games and everything that I wished.

New Beggining
Well, this week was another good start for everyone, including me. This week I got my hair gelled for no reason, maybe just to look good since I always got a dull hairdo. This week we started it on Tuesday since there was a declaration on Monday that there will be no classes, maybe because of the S.O.N.A. on Monday. The fourth years also had their review for the U.P.C.A.T. on Saturday. The week was also boring since everyone is very busy or feeling bored as well. The first and second years are also excited since their field trip is on Saturday at Subic. Too bad, our field trip is at the next Saturday, August 9. My start of the week didn't became so good since I danced on Chemistry at Wednesday and I looked like an idiot on front but on the other days I didn't dance. I hope I don't get punished of dancing again.

Pain
This week I experienced a terrible pain inside me, hyper acidity. I experienced it once when I was still younger and now I experienced it again. It was painful but my mother said that if I have followed her orders of not drinking coke, I could have never experienced it. I was very naughty since last week after buying a lot of coke. I'm always tempted to drink it so I ended up having hyper acidity. I cannot move fast and I can't do and eat because of this. It's attacking every once in a while but it is very painful. Good thing I have medicine to counter it for a while only.

My Father, One of a Kind
My father has many traits that others can't understand but if they knew him better, they would understand. One is that he only buys things that we need at the right time and right place. He rarely buys or spend money on unnecessary things. He only buys a few things that we will enjoy when the time is right. He is also serious but he is a very cheerful person inside. In front of other people, he is serious and he rarely talks to people that easily. When we are at our home, that's where my father's cheerful side appears. He is a very hardworking person as well. He likes to do his work rather than wasting time doing nothing. When he is here with us, he spends his time on useful things like ways on improving the house. He spends his time wisely and useful enough for him and to others. My father has some other traits that seems hard to understand but even though, he's still the best father that I love and proud of.

My Birthday
This week was the best week that I had since the start of my third year days. My birthday was on Friday and time went so fast and I actually celebrated it at Bucal. I invited my friends and together we went at Bucal to celebrate. I paid for our fare but it's ok since I invited them and I want them to be there. There were chicken, pancit, shanghai rolls and softdrinks so we ate a lot. On our way back we rode our Everest and when we arrived at school, we had a "Grand entrance" with a big car but sadly no one was looking so we kept it to ourselves and told the others like nothing happened.
By the way on our Research I am thinking for other materials that can be converted to electricity like rice straws.

History of the Papa family

The history of our family came from my long line of ancestors. On my mother side, it started with my great grandparents. My great grandfather Anong and great grandmother Anna married and had a son named Magdaleno who became my grandfather. My great grandfather Bino married my great grandmother Inggay and Carmen, my great grandmother, was born. Magdaleno, tilling and taking care of his fields and Carmen, selling rice to the market, met each other, fell in love and eventually married. They had many children and the youngest was my mother, Vilma.
On my father's side, my great grandfather Casio married my great grandmother Danding and had a son, whose my grandfather now, named Rufo. Great grandmother Pikang married my great grandfather Luis and Adelaida, my grandmother was born. My grandfather, commanding others at the Air Force and my grandmother, teaching elementary and high school students met, got married and had children. One of which is my father, Rammil. My mother, working at clinics as a dentist and my father, working at ships as a Merchant Marine Officer, met and married eventually and had me and my siblings.

Challenges
This week was a test for me, I should say. The first periodic tests for the first grading period is scheduled this week and I'm not that ready yet. We studied some lessons and I haven't studied them thoroughly. Anyway the test came in at Tuesdays and Wednesdays. I did my best to answer the tests but every time I finish a test I thought that I didn't do my 100% so I felt guilty and said to myself that I will fail. On the second day the same thing happened but every time I think that I will fail the more difficult the test become. After all those things was a time to enjoy. I enjoyed half of the day after the tests eating and doing nothing.
After the two tests days was the checking of the tests. Luckily I didn't get a very low grade, not a very high grade either. Some tests results were good for me but the others are not so good.

Abstract
A diverse array of birds apparently make mechanical sounds (called sonations) with their feathers. Few studies have established that these sounds are non-vocal, and the mechanics of how these sounds are produced remains poorly studied. The loud, high-frequency chirp emitted by a male Anna's hummingbird (Calypte anna) during his display dive is a debated example. Production of the sound was originally attributed to the tail, but a more recent study argued that the sound is vocal. Here, we use high-speed video of diving birds, experimental manipulations on wild birds and laboratory experiments on individual feathers to show that the dive sound is made by tail feathers. High-speed video shows that fluttering of the trailing vane of the outermost tail feathers produces the sound. The mechanism is not a whistle, and we propose a flag model to explain the feather's fluttering and accompanying sound. The flag hypothesis predicts that subtle changes in feather shape will tune the frequency of sound produced by feathers. Many kinds of birds are reported to create aerodynamic sounds with their wings or tail, and this model may explain a wide diversity of non-vocal sounds produced by birds.

Arrival
This week started of the arrival of many things. It was the arrival of a new month, July, where my birthday is also to come. This week as well our teachers' announcement astonished us, for the first periodic test will be coming next week. We studied only a few things that I remember and now the first periodic test will be coming. I studied well this week for the P.T and also for my grades. I planned on studying this weekend but there was another thing that arrived, our godmother arrived from England.
The time that our godmother arrived was late already. Her flight arrived at around 9:45 in the evening and I was very sleepy. When she arrived everyone became awake and happy again. We headed to our grandparents' house to celebrate, even late at night. After the celebration, we went home at around 12:00 already. On Sunday we went back to our grandparents' house to continue the celebration. We arrived early and still went home late.

Goals In Life

Today we learned a lot about a person's goal in life and I thought everyone can have their dreams that they want to fulfill. I also have something that I want to fulfill for myself, I want to share my ideas and blessings to other people. There are many things that I want others to know about. I also have my own experiences that I can share to other people. In these way, I can tell other people what I have experienced in life. Based on those experiences others can decide whether to follow it or not. I want others to know what I did to experience a life like this. Others might have different experiences than I do but I'm proud of my own. It doesn't matter to whom to believe or follow at. Just like what Jonathan Livingston Seagull taught to Fletcher Lynd Seagull, so that I can inspire others and do what is right for them.

End Of June
The time moves so fast that I didn't notice the month of June ending. June is the month of preparation and time for adjustments. I am not yet fully adjusted with my "new" environment. This week was the first week that had a one day no classes. It was on Monday because of typhoon Frank. I enjoyed the day sleeping, playing and studying. Since I did all of my assignments on Sunday then I didn't have so many things to study about. When we returned to school the effects of the storm was shown to our cleaning areas. We spent a lot of time cleaning the front part of the DOST lab. It was very tiring but good thing I didn't water the plants.
On to the lessons. We discussed a LOT of topics since we didn't have classes on Monday. We were given a lot of homework and seat works to finish. There were also surprise quizzes and good thing I didn't get a low grade and not a high grade compared to the others. Our recitation became often but good thing I was able to answer some of the teacher's question. On this week also I purchased a book for our Araling Panlipunan subject. It was expensive, the price was P457.00 but good thing that I bought it so that I can answer during our surprise recitations.
This week also I got angry to several of my friends due to their unstoppable teasing. They teased everything that I did wrong. I was able to laugh to some but not to all of it.

School
This week is like any ordinary school weeks I had when I was a second year except that I am a third year. I thought there will be a lot of changes but i guessed wrong. Maybe I'm the one who didn't change my study habits. Lately I received scores that are not too high, not that low, always the same, an average score. I can't get a 100 nor a 0, its always a 90, 80 or below 70. I think I need to do better than that.
Our lessons looked harder and needs a lot of thinking. In our subjects, especially A.P. and English requires a lot of writings. In English we were told to write a formal theme about what we read on the story about the Filipino athletes and their accomplishments. There were so many athletes to write about so I ran out of ink in my pen. On A.P. I wrote a lot on the assignment but when its time for our class, we didn't check it but instead we were told to recite. I ended up standing at the recitation because I forgot everything that I wrote on my notebook. Next time I will memorize it instead.
